A unique rendezvous of the 2018 season of the European Classic Series, the 4 Hours of Spa Classic on June 29-30th and July 1st have obviously attracted the attention of specialized teams in this kind of endurance race reserved for bikes of a certain age.
Four months prior to the race, many teams have already returned their entry form. Among them, big names in the motorcycle world, regulars, but also some new kids on the block, all eager to put into practice the new regulations of the ECS, which now accepts motorcycles produced until 1991, just to enable a more a large number of teams to taste the series.
The names of the bikes entered by the first participants leave no doubt: several teams have risen to the occasion to align more modern bikes like the Yamaha FZR 750R, the Suzuki GSX-R 750 or even the Honda RC30, many references that will compete for the victory of the new EVO category, alongside the usual Classic 1000 and Maxi Classic.
On the side of the riders, the list is far from final yet, but there are already some eloquent names: Stéphane Mertens, Guy Martin, Ian Martin, Henk Van Der Mark, Dirk Brand, Christian Haquin ... And many more to come very soon!
As a reminder, the 4 Hours of Spa Classic 2018 will also inaugurate a new format of two times two hours of racing, with a start on Saturday at the end of the day and a second start on Sunday afternoon. Info and registration: www.europeanclassicseries.eu.
